Geriatrics
Geriatrics looks after the health of older people, considering together their illnesses, the medicines they take, their independence in daily life and their family situation. The aim is to preserve well-being and independence for as long as possible.
Geriatric consultations take place at our clinics and, for people who find it hard to get around, also at home.
When is a geriatric consultation useful?
- several chronic conditions to manage together;
- many daily medicines to review and simplify;
- memory problems or disorientation;
- falls, loss of balance or reduced mobility;
- loss of appetite or weight;
- reduced independence in everyday activities.
The geriatrician can coordinate with the other specialists and with the centre’s laboratory, including home blood tests.
